Google's new boost for Chrome

It's been about 8 months since Google Chrome was launched and Google has now increased their focus on speed and added some of the most-requested features.

While some of the improvements made it into the Beta version that was released in March, Google is moving the Beta version to the stable channel for all users to enjoy.

Some improvements are -

- Improved New Tab Page: The most requested feature from users was the ability to remove thumbnails from the New Tab page. Now you can finally hide that embarrassing gossip blog from the Most Visited section.

- Full Screen Mode: If you've ever given a presentation or watched a large video using Google Chrome, you might have wished you could use every last pixel on your screen for the content. Now you can hide the title bar and the rest of the browser window by hitting F11 or selecting the option in the Tools menu.

- Form Autofill: Filling out your information in forms over and over again can be tedious. Form autofill helps by showing information you've previously entered into the same form fields automatically. If at any point you want to clear out your information, that's easy to do from the Tools menu.

Google has also increased Chrome's stability by fixing over 300 bugs that caused crashes since its launch. It's also faster now with a new version of WebKit and an update to their JavaScript engine, V8.

Those already using Google Chrome, will be automatically updated to this new version soon. Those who aren't, can get the latest version here.

Disable Window's Xp boot Screen

It is possible to disable XP splash screen, which will slightly speed up the overall boot process. Be aware that removing the splash screen will also cause you not to see any boot-up messages that might come up (chkdsk, convert ... ), but if your system runs without any problems then it should not matter.

1. Edit boot.ini (You find it in C: drive it would be hidden so change folder option)
2. Add " /noguiboot" right after "/fastdetect".

(or check the /noguiboot switch in msconfig on the boot.ini tab)

Upon restarting, the splash screen will be gone. It can be re-enabled by removing the new switch.
